Easter is a day of renewal, the shedding of old habits and replacing them with better ones, just like New Year but in a more spiritual vein. After a long weekend in Boracay, Puerto Galera or even in Palawan, we’re back to work in the concrete jungle.
But for those of us who didn’t have vacation mullah, the weekend was just spent watching a marathon of dvd’s we haven’t got time to watch on regular days. One particular movie I did like watching was “The Bucket List” staring Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson.
At first I really didn’t think much of the movie but as it moved along, it got quite interesting. Having to face their own mortality, they started to make a meaningful list of things they would personally do before they kick the bucket. It became an adventure of a lifetime.
In the end, both learned much from each other, although coming from different backgrounds, having found joy in the simplest things, their last days made a lasting impact in both their lives and their families. It was their wish to go to the sunset with their eyes closed and their hearts open.
It’s one of those ‘feel good’ movies that would make you think in the end. It’s better to make a list now of the meaningful things we’d like to do when we’re still willing and able rather than wait for the inevitable and it’s already too late.
I made few that I think would be worthwhile doing. Better make a “Bucket List” of your own now before it’s too late.
So what’s yours? Happy Easter!!
